Employee Spotlight: Mike Hackney

CDE is still steadily growing and changing.  We’ve added a lot of new partners, started supporting several new POS solutions, and are still making continuous changes to the ways that we work with our partners.  All the growth and evolution has led to continuous team additions and changes as well.  One of our most recent team additions was Mike Hackney, our new Senior Director of Business Development.

Mike works with partners throughout the industry to identify their needs and find ways for CDE to satisfy them through fulfillment services such as Merchant Activation, Merchant Help Desk, and Asset Management.  So far, he’s already helped the organization to solidify a number of new partnerships as well as strengthen some that had been created prior to his employment.

Mike has worked in the payments industry for over 27 years, with experience in merchant acquiring, retail banking, POS, mobile, and check payments.  His senior level experience includes roles within business development, sales management, and marketing for industry leaders such as Ingenico, Sage Payments, and iMobile3.

As a child, Mike’s family moved around a lot and even lived in Singapore for 5 years before they settled in California when he was a teenager.  He went on to earn his bachelor’s from ORU in Tulsa, OK and an MBA from Cal State Fullerton.  In 1995, Mike moved from California to Atlanta (Forsyth County) with his wife and high school sweetheart, where they raised all three of their now adult sons and still live today.

Mike has already proven himself to be a great asset to the CDE organization and we’re excited to see what more he has to offer over time.
